Is there anything I stated within the comment that you quoted that you disagree with?

My point was simply that, with the abundance of quality modelled instruments currently available, even if only available from a handful of devs, that it is possible to replace many large sample libraries.

But like I said previously, to each their own. 👍
In my own small way, I have proved that sample modeling actually works and that one can do creative and musical things in that context. At the end of the day, there are plenty 'sample libraries' out there that sound pretty bad. There was a guy on Gearslutz who was determined to prove why Pianoteq was terrible. Later on, he had no choice but to accept the challenge. He failed to properly identify the Pianoteq-based track out of a selection of only three recordings. This goes to show that sometimes people just repeat something they've read somewhere, and if enough people repeat that statement, it becomes accepted as fact!

As I said, I'm a supporter of sample modeling technology, and I really hope it becomes the norm one day. At this point, sample modeling is just a tool to be used alongside traditional sample libraries for working composers who need more. If I didn't need more, I would've definitely limited myself to libraries with a smaller footprint for sure.

If anyone's new to this thread is interested in Pianoteq, here's a short Bösendorfer 280VC demo:

and this is another demo that I recorded a couple of years ago when Pianoteq 8 came out. It covers a number of presets if I remember correctly:
